Introduction: Nano-photonic Information System WG

Recent developments in optical science and technology have profited tremendously from progress in other fields of advanced sciences, such as material science and biology. Especially the elementary interactions between light and matter have attracted significant research efforts, resulting in in-depth discussions that have inspired the development of various applications.

The further development of this research will require a serious consideration of novel phenomena and technologies in material and optical sciences. At the same time, the importance of developing technological platforms and applications can not be underestimated, especially where it concerns information systems in which optical operating principles play a major role.

The researchers and engineers in this working group focus on interactions between light and matter to progress their studies in fields of information and systems, while realizing various functions and applications based on such interactions.

This working group has the following goals:
  • Stimulate and develop the research field of Nano-photonic Information Systems
  • Enhancing domestic and international academic networks
(Activating the research community, advancing their visibility, etc.)
  • Promoting interdisciplinary communication
(Interactions between researchers of materal science and information science, etc.)
  • Training young researchers
